What "triggered" your interest in jockstraps?

I'm wondering what actually "triggered" our interest in jockstraps. For me it was the fact that, in my mid-teens, I had my first "crush" -- my high-school football coach. I found him very attractive, but it wasn't until the first time I saw him in a jockstrap that I finally understood, deep down, that my attraction to him was sexual in nature. (Interestingly, my fellow students, the guys my age, really didn't appeal to me very much. As it turns out, I've always been drawn to men older than me.) There were some, true, but as an educator, the philosophy of educating boys and girls separately so that they can focus on academics and not the other gender lost favor. The real world isn't separated into single gender communities, so teaching students to live, think, and work with the other gender, and diverse populations, and now, orientations, prepares them for the world they will live in as adults.
