I was lucky to have an aware Dad who somehow knew when I wanted/needed my first jock. On Saturday's I loved to go with him to his auto dealership and help out. At lunch, he and I would go to a local café to have lunch and chat. As we ate, he said, "let's go to the sports store to get some things". Just that... He and I picked out 3 to try. The sales guy looked perhaps like a high school student, and he was cool. He just said for me not to take off my underwear when I tried on the jocks I had with me. Then he winked as if to say: that's stupid, strip down, so you can feel what a jock really feels like. Dad and I went to the changing room, and I stripped; that was no big deal, as my Dad was always very open about us being naked around each other. I stripped and tried on the first one...and I immediately got a boner! Dad laughed a little and said it happens a lot to him too, so I wasn't embarrassed. He mentioned DickUp or DickDown. We talked about this before when I just wore my bathing suit. So he suggested I try both Up and Down positions and see how my dick liked each position. Then I tried the other 2 jocks. I have no recollection of models or types, just that all 3 had Bike on the band. I loved all 3 jocks, and my dick never went down. But now the schools either cut funding for PE or don’t enforce changing into gym clothes. So boys leave the house already dressed in gym shirt with underwear not a jockstrap. Boys these days don’t want be caught dead in lockeroom naked and showering. Blame the parents and schools for the society changes.

It’s strange, isn’t it, that so many of the younger generation don’t change in locker rooms or, if they do, always do the “towel dance” to keep themselves covered. I’m not sure what they are ashamed of or frightened about.

Well I agree because when I was going to local gym the the young adult’s coming to gym came dressed for workouts and left with showering. You would see thier waistbands of boxers or Boxerbriefs not even a hint of jockstrap.

Actually I wear the same size strap I did in junior high a size medium! Have found if I wash on delicate cycle, cold water, and dry on an interior rack my straps will last for a long time. I have some that are over 30 years old and look new!

Mine is a top load without agitator now, previous was front load, but I got tired of having to replacing the boot …

Damn. I wish my dad took any part in my growing up. I didnt even get "the talk". If it wasn't for school teaching us about puberty, and having access to the internet, I wouldn't have known what was going on.

My father showed minimal interest in me when I was growing up - he was too besotted with my older sister and had no time or inclination to spend any time at all with me. Still, as they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I’m sure the experience will have made you a more caring person.

I did feel fortunate my dad took the time with my brother and my self. So yes i have been fortunate to casually talk online with a few lads who asked questions about why they should wear a jockstrap. Some of the boys had absent fathers or sons of single mother. If I could I would send any jocks they needed. Once the boys got the jocks would try them on and no pics were ever exchanged just emails say how they love them and told all their friends to choose to buy some with thier dads.
