Just wondering how everyone feels about fake jockstraps?

I was booting around social media today and saw three separate posts featuring guys in fake PUMP! jocks. I've also seen plenty of fake Jack Adams and Cellblock 13. I even reported some fake CB13 jocks on AliExpress a while back to our contact at Cellblock 13 and his response was that they were aware but could do nothing about it. They're only recourse was to continue to produce exciting new styles and keep ahead of China.

Back to PUMP!, I know they're available all over the place, you can get them for a few bucks on AliExpress, Wish, and countless other Chinese sites posing as North American stores. They even show up on Google in their top shopping section when you search the word "jockstrap".

For me, it's easy to spot the fake PUMP! as I know their entire catalog both old and current styles plus there's other obvious differences like the fabric, sizing, stitching but the easiest for me is to simply look at the exclamation mark in the logo.

So, do you think guys are buying fake PUMP! thinking they're real or do they know they're fake and just don't care?

I have seen them on various sites, would rather buy from a reputable store, I don't get down on anyone who has purchased the cheaper fakes, just not for me! Buy Local when possible people! :)

Some guys know it's fake but don't care & buy it anyway. Some guys aren't aware it's fake & think they got a good bargain.
A Vice Prime Minister made a TikTok that this (super) fast fashion isn't sustainable. Several news media made documentaries about it. Hopefully more people will get aware & stop buying this awfull stuff.

I mean, I honestly have no idea if these are fake or not. I gotta take your word for it. So yeah, I’d guess guys are buying them thinking they’re real.

Someone told me that I had a fake CB13 on one day, and it was purchased from a store online with a USA address. Ever since, I have been trying to get more from the actual vendors directly vs. googled stores.

Total guess — guys don’t know. I can honestly say that I’d be annoyed to buy anything which I presumed to be genuine and find it a fake. Now “finding” or taking a stinking, sweaty jock off a stud I wouldn’t give a shit one way or another! 🐷😈

Why did they think it was fake? There are lots of legit stores selling Cellblock 13. If you really cared, I can tell you. We've carried or at least seen everything they've brought out for the past 12 years.

To everyone else....

Back in the day when I didn't have to go into our stock room for new gear :) I was an avid online shopper. The first thing I'd do before shopping with at a new website is:

  1. Try to find an About US page. Most Chinese or fake stores normally don't have one or it's just filled with nonsense and poor English.
  2. Try to find their Contact details. That will be in a separate Contact page or it will be in their support or FAQ.
  3. Try to find an actual email for the company. Most fake/Chinese stores will not display their email address and the Contact page will have a generic contact form.
  4. Try to find a phone number for the company - and if you do find one, you can try calling it.
  5. Try to find out their mailing address and shipping details - although this is tricky as well as many Chinese companies have USA addresses. So, yes, your order may ship from the USA but it has to ship from China to the USA first.
  6. Find out their shipping costs and delivery times. If they have it listed it will be often hidden in their FAQ or support pages. It's also a good indication of where they really are. They will often offer free shipping but shipping can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
And as they say, and it hold true in this situation:

If it seems too good to be true then it probably is.

I think two years ago maybe?, I bought a jock thinking it was the king dick brand that JSC carries with “BOY” stitched into the waistband front and center, but from a store down in Palm Springs that I just happened to find. I got home only to be disappointed in finding out it was a cheap knock off from some other brand. Should have just ordered it from JSC in the first place. lol. So I have that one experience with “fake” jocks. I can say it does suck when you realize it’s not legit.

with that being said I didn’t know other brands were getting knocks off made, but it doesn’t surprise me in todays world. I’ve only ever bought pump undies, which I love by the way, from JSC and I’m guessing they’re legit given that I know the quality stand point of JSC. lol.

Adrian and I went to China on a guided tour around 6 years ago (we loved it). It's filled with stores selling knock-offs. Part of our tour, we had the option of spending a day in Shanghai or going to a mall famous for it's knock-off. Obviously, we spent the day exploring Shanghai (stunning city!).

On the tour, we also visited a city called Wuxi. There was a fancy outdoor mall there and you'd find an authentic store right next to a knock-off one. For example, there was an authentic Adidas store and right next door a store called Abidas selling the same stuff but fake. Strangely enough, the young people there were dressed to the nines. Very fashion forward and not wearing knock-offs. I guess the knock-off were for tourists.

You men make my nipples hard.
Years ago my wife made me a "knockoff Jock", she used an old bra cup, she's a 36b, and the waist band from ripped out underwear for the waist and butt straps. I wore it for a few years, then she changed her mind about it, and threw it away.

SADLY most local stores stopped selling jockstraps. There was a time when we had stores that carried so many of them. I think the only place in town that has some for sale is DICK'S and they only have SHOCK DOCTOR and they are quite pricey. I never tried one of those on. I saw one in a thrift store and it seemed to be silky and feminine and not something to give men the support they need. Of course I could be wrong and I should not give an opinion without trying it on but hoping to hear from others, I still prefer the pouches that cling and support. Some of the newer brands don't do that at all. I am not here to badmouth any product or company but just stating facts I have found in the past. Anyone else feel that way?

We saw that in China as well earlier this month. Very odd to see them next to one another like that.

I found the "classic Bikes" from bike athletics.com to be made in China, as opposed to the authentic Bike classic jockstrap from the 70's, two of which I bought off eBay when I was overwhelmed by my visceral feelings about having the same kind of jock I had when I discovered them in the first place.

What amazes and amuses me is to imagine guys who work in the jockstrap manufacturing and design industries. I mean, I know it's just like working in men's /women's underwear, but it kinda titillates me to think about the conversations around the conference table where, as I imagine, they are shown prototypes of new designs of jockstraps... and then some factory in China has to produce the knock off thereof.
Obviously, I know nothing about that kind of business, being hugely independently wealthy and having no need to work and being content just lying around in my jock until I go to the gym and hang out jocked in the locker room thinking about all the money I have and how it makes guys hot to trot when they see hundred-dollar bills hanging out of my waistband, enticing them to misbehave... or wait, maybe I dreamed that...

Last weekend there was a blockade an air fright terminal from a Chinese company & it was the first headline in the evening tv news, so more & more people get aware of this:
https://www-vrt-be.translate.goog/v..._sl=nl&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=nl&_x_tr_pto=wapp

That's amazing. I read a while back that the EU were trying to impose regulations on manufacturing, stipulating that any clothes sold in the EU would have to be manufactured with zero waste, which would make the Chinese manufactures either change their factories and policies or stop exporting to the EU.

Indeed but it's still in parliament:

it took ten years to regulate the chargers for mobile phones, hopefully this will be regulated faster.

Indeed: until a few weeks ago the website clearly mentioned they were made in the USA but when I looked today, it wasn't in the specifications list anymore, I asked them this question in the comments on Instagram.

Haven't looked in a while but when they first launched it stated that most jocks were made in China but the #10s were being made in the USA. Perhaps they changed that.
