Please consider using a compounding pharmacy for your tapering-off process. Quitting antidepressants or stepping down too sharply can cause a lot of problems, I have family experience with that. I have also read about that previously and searching just now I see there's a lot more reiterating that safety advice, all recommending a gradual tapering off using a compounding pharmacy to get smaller increments, as the primary manufacturers aren't keen on making and marketing multiple step-down doses directly.

Hey guys, I'm really sorry about the website being down and for so long but there was nothing I could do about it.

Hackers got to on the server and modified a whole bunch of files. It wasn't the type of hack where they got any information, just a really annoying one that put difficult to find scripts that periodically ran and altered files all over the server. I worked for the last week along with my server hosting company to do scans and sleuth out where all these rogue files were. A difficult task when there are literally thousands of files on the server. A full server scan was done twice on 800,000 files.

The good news is the database wasn't hacked so no info was stolen or altered or deleted.

To be honest, there was a point where I thought the website couldn't be recovered. Luckily, my other website USG uses the same software and so I was able to download unaffected files from that install and use them to replace the files that got altered on Your Jockstraps. It took a while as I'd get the site up and running but I missed some hacked files and everything I did got reversed (hacked again).

I'm pretty sure everything is back up and running properly but keep an eye on things and if you find any issues, let me know.

I'm exhausted and the damn election didn't help. I haven't been sleeping well, partly due to the stress of this but also because of some new medication I'm on that's not agreeing with me (or the multitude of other meds I'm taking). I want to quit it but it's an anti-depressant so I can't just stop it cold turkey. Will be talking to my doctor on Monday about how quickly I can stop taking it.

I'll be checking in throughout the weekend to make sure everything is ok.

I use Duck Duck Go as my browser for the simple fact that my usage is not tracked by them and they don’t store my details.
However, when I initially pull up the Your Jockstraps site a red warning symbol appears on the verification symbol, stating that the connection is not encrypted.
It’s still there when I log on and when I use the Alerts button. If I then click onto the Gallery, I’m automatically logged out. I then log back in, the warning symbol has disappeared, the connection is encrypted and I can then browse the site fully.
Is it me, is it my I-Pad (it is old), is it DDG, or is there still a bug at your end?

The site should be going to the https:// version of the site which is secure. This is handled by a file on the server that alters the address as soon as you visit the website. It looks like that got altered during the hack so I think it's possible to still get to the non-secure version of the site, even though I went to Duck Duck Go and searched on "yourjockstraps" , click the first result and ended up on the secure version of the website. You, however, may be going to a cached version.

But... upon doing the test, I also found another issue. The file on the server that is supposed to direct visitors to the secure version is also supposed to alter the address to "yourjockstraps.com" Some guys will end up on "www.yourjockstraps.com" and although it's the same website, the browser sees it as a different site and that messes up the log in. Meaning, if you're logged into the site at "yourjockstraps.com" and you then go to "www.yourjockstraps.com" you will most likely have to log in again.

To complicate matters, the hackers had changed the code to alter the address and although it wasn't a bad change, it didn't do what it was supposed to do. On top of that, when we were trying to get rid of the hack and the ongoing altering of files, the support team locked the file that will alter the address. So, I'm unable to edit the file and make the changes.

I will contact the support team to get them to alter the code or unlock the file (as there's no evidence of the hack left over anywhere.)

The company is caller Performive ( performive.com ) and we currently have two dedicated servers with them. One Your Jockstraps, USG, and a few more websites we have and the other is strictly for Jockstrap Central and a few other related domains.

Let's hope this is (finally) the end to the website issues.

I checked in a couple of times; but after breaking up with my (now) ex-boyfriend four months ago; he attempted suicide about a month past. He drank antifreeze and cranberry juice. He had come over to watch the post election results on the 8th December with his dog. He asked me if I minded watching his dog for a “few days” because he was moving - and I said sure, no problem. The following morning CNN was still on (he never likes noise when he is trying to go to sleep) so I knew something was up. I tried to jostle his shoulder to get him awake to get his dog out of the kennel to take him out, but to no avail. I noticed he was still breathing though - so I just called 911. They were there in short order, and by the time I had taken the pups out they told me where they were taking him. I finished feeding the dogs, got a shower and went to the hospital with his ID and insurance card. He was in a coma for 4 days, and ICU for the next 6 days. Hes in a mental hospital now. So, its been a tough month; and trying to catch up with all this great new content has been fun at least!!!!

I’m so sorry, firstly about your break up, but also about having to deal with your ex’s suicide attempt.
Although I’ve never had to deal with what you’ve been through, 24 years ago within a group of my friends who we’d all been at school together, one of us committed suicide without seemingly any warning. It hit us badly then and, when we meet up now and we are raise a glass to Steve, it still hurts.
