How many hours do your jocks keep support?

Recently I've tried wearing my jockstraps not just for sport but also for daily underwear. Whilst in the mornings they feel snug and supportive like a second skin, by mid-afternoon they really lose their support and start to feel uncomfortable. I've experienced this with several brands including Bike, McDavid, Gray Nicolls etc. Does anyone else experience this or know any brands that give all day support?

sounds like you need to find a jock that fits your build. A decent jockstrap should provide all day support even if it's not washed regularly. There are lots of good options at Jockstrap Central. The pro brand is very supportive as are many of their other options.

I have never had an issue with the pouch failing to give me proper support throughout the day unless there was a jockstrap failure. It is never a good feeling when the point where the leg straps meet the pouch lets go.

if you can find a vintage Litesome strap on e-bay or as old-stock in a sports shop, I'm sure it will provide you with what you need.

Maybe there is something wrong with your jocks or they are to large for you. This problem is the very reason that I left cotton briefs behind. When I would put briefs on, in the morning, they would be very comfy and supportive. As the day went on, the leg holes would start to relax and I would lose the support that I wanted. Athletic supporters solved this problem. I good jock can be worn indefinitely and never loses it support. Do avoid putting your straps into a clothes dryer, the intense heat will shorten the life of the elastic straps.

Definitely avoid jocks with cotton pouches, even if they have some spandex or lycra content the cotton tends to lose shape. Also, as mentioned above, be sure the pouch is fitting you from the start. For most sports jocks, the pouch material (called webbing) should have Spandex or Rubber to maintain the shape. Higher amounts of those means longer and better shape retention.

Have you tried our JC Athletic Classic Sports Jocks? We have tons of rave reviews since launching them in 2017. The pouch has lots of rubber in them, plus we contoured the base of the pouch for a bitter fit. And not that it will add to the shape retention, the waistbands have a soft inside to the elastic (the part that touches your skin) which means added comfort (more apparent with the wider 3 inch versions).
