I've always needed the support that a jock provided, and to be honest, I'll continue wearing a jock, especially in the summer months. But there are a good selection of men's underwear that have come online in recent years, which specifically include a good roomy, supportive pouch up front.
Now l can not only enjoy the feeling of my boys being comfortably cradled, but l can keep my ass warm as well. That's really the only drawback of jockstraps. Otherwise, the straps l have, hold everything together beautifully. But I tend to be outdoors a lot, and in the wither months, when I'm out skating or doing cross-country, it can get breezy.
I have at least a dozen straps and now I've accumulated a good selection of underwear from several manufacturers, both Canadian and American. Ergowear, All Citizens, UFM, Sheath, are but a few that I have in my top drawer. It's an extra bonus that just the act of putting them on and ensuring that all my parts are sitting comfortably in their hammock, always gives me a chub-on, just like my jocks do.

AussieBum has a few jockstraps with backsides enclosed instead of straps! Sheath has long johns too for winter play...
