Vintage Ace
I was just writing yesterday on some post about how drugstores used to sell jockstraps and how the ones I saw most were Ace, like in your photo (tho' the also sold Flarico/Bub straps).I bought an Ace or two to see what they were like and I thought them not particularly well designed, The pouch didn't support much

I ordered two vintage Bike #10 jockstraps from eBay in the past year. One's held up but the other developed renegade loops (which would be a good name for a rock band); that is, tiny loops of the pouch material started to emerge above the pouch surface. Somehow the look of that kinda grossed me out; it looked like some kind of magnified disease. SO I snipped the loops, knowing what would happen next: sure enough, the snipped threads gave way and now my jock pouch has about 6-8 small holes in it, but I decided it was better than the disease-looking loops and in its own way, it's kind hot to have a jock with that much wear and tear. I wore it to the Philadelphia jacks this week but there weren't any jock hounds around and it didn't get much comment or attention.

I found a couple of those a few years ago on Ebay does it have the skinny strap?
Steve, It did have the skinny straps but they were bad elastic. I replaced the straps with new regular straps. I have three more that I will be replacing the straps.

Where did you find the regular straps at?
Purchased from Amazon. Elastic strap by the roll. I fold to attach to the pouch and then cut to the desired length and sew it to the waistband. It takes some time but I guess it is worth it to save a vintage jockstrap. I took a few pics of the process. I'll see if I can find them.

Ok thanks, I didn't know you could buy that elastic strap.
