hard to say if that's your browser showing cookies to other sites, (a good reason to prefer firefox as it is supposed to not share between sites, also facebook has enforced containerization that I believe is on by default at least on desktop, there are differences and the mobile browser is a bit behind might need facebook container addon-still), or ad /tracking tech built into this site's platform or other sites you use. @Jockstrapguy any thoughts?

I’m traveling home and will address this post when I’m back at my desk tomorrow but can assure you that this site isn’t tracking you or allowing any other site to track you while here.

however, if you follow a link on here to another website, like a link to eBay or Shopify based store, they could easily add a tracking code based on the landing page.

the main culprit is Google Adsense or Adroll. They are the services that track your activity. The ones that if you look for toasters on one site cause all the other sites to serve ads for toasters.

As for the suspensory ads, if you didn’t search for suspensories on Google, Bing, social media site like Facebook or some shopping site Then they could be associating searches on jockstraps with suspensories. When you place ads on these services you get to choose keywords that will trigger them. Or they could also use algorithms to connect jockstraps to suspensories.

Agreed. It’s one of the few true search engines out there. They don’t track you and their listings aren’t just a bunch of useless paid ads of various sorts.

Facebook sucks and can't believe anyone still uses it! Hated it, deleted it and don't miss it at all!

We use Facebook simply because a lot of our friends are on it and it's a way to stay connected but we rarely post. I generally open Facebook, scroll through a few posts then get bombarded with ads and suggested posts I end up closing it right away. BUT... we have a number of ongoing chat groups in Messenger and that's mostly why we stick with FB.

Even though we have a Jockstrap Central FB page I rarely update it. We have close to 20,000 followers but to reach more than 0.1% of them you have to boost your posts (pay for them) and I refuse to give FB any money.

I’ve never used it, particularly since, as a teacher, having a briefing by a police officer who worked at a high level within the national Computer Fraud dept.
he showed us how, with any prior knowledge of our school, the staff or our computer system, with 30 minutes work the previous evening using Facebook, he pulled up and showed (anonymised) information posted on FB by staff members who believed that their security was at a high level. They were horrified!
As he said Zuckerberg treats FB users with contempt, changes the security levels without informing any users and views them as cash cows.
The same goes for Twitter/X, particularly now that Musk has taken over.
