Summer on the farm is gonna be brutal heat. Any advice or suggestions are appreciated. I'm looking for a jockstrap suggestion or recommendation (and briefs, boxer briefs while I'm asking) that has a solid smooth fabric, preferably single-ply pouch that stays very cool and manages sweat okay. Would prefer a non-polyester, generally don't like the feel and I'd rather not with microplastics. I see a lot of poly mesh cutout, I may have to sample one out of desperation. I think most poly garments could swap out for modal and accomplish their goals. Would prefer something with plain aesthetics, but it's not vital for me. A plus of being both comfortable and mundane enough, I've been looking for a jockstrap to add in next time I buy my father briefs for christmas.
I like my Gym well enough but sometimes you need a smoother texture on pouch, elastic, and the stitching for that matter. I have a nylon spandex Road Runner jockstrap leftover that kinda fits the bill, but those are discontinued, its elastic is aging so the pouch kinda hangs slack and the pouch is rather flat. People have compared them to the old CoolMax jocks, I never got to try those.
Maybe I should try the wolf jockstrap or something similar, not sure what about the pouch fabric breathability or the bulkier leg straps. The plus of the 3" Gym I'm realizing is that the wide band is comfier with my heavier work shorts and pants. It's a shield against waist friction, and it does help a little with the pants wanting to slide down my ass which is distracting and embarassing, but more importantly limits squat mobility, and sagging pants then cut into my gut when I bend which is THE WORST. Need to plonk down cash for those Duluth bib overalls I keep coveting. The main downside of the 3“ band is that it's awkward to clip my cellphone holster to, which for lightweight athletic shorts is actually really important. The 2" Gym does well structurally and dimensionwise in that task. I've seriously thought about stitching belt loops to a 3" band.
I'd consider going for the stretch cotton Papi, given that I mostly liked the feel of the cotton papi except it didn't stretch enough to even permit much of a semi erection in the down position. However the cotton was kind of grating when wet, and the two-ply pouch is way too warm. maybe if I cut out the inner layer? can't remember if they're stitched together in the center seam but I think they floated independently, made for an interesting dick head contour. I did cut out the inner layer of a poly blend calvin klein jock once, it sprouted holes and rips all over afterwards, needed both layers for structural integrity vs boners possibly.
Single ply does seem to wear through more, and the sewing repairs never take for long or feel comfy so that is a downside. Usually my underwear, I suppose boxer briefs have had majority time share, have had holes develop on the taint from squatting/ stretching and pants friction some of it's legacy damage from a damaged bicycle set I very cheaply rode for years before realizing it was the culprit ripping all my fucking pants and shorts.
I'm tempted to buy some of the walmart Jockey Life brand, or i suppose it's a Hanes product they sell now to replace it, String bikini and cut out the back, do some sewing at the perineum, convert it to a jockstrap. I have some of their briefs/bikinis I really enjoy. Very thin single ply, more recently the Hanes replacement is a spandex blend which is nice but the boner doesn't glide on it the same, it yields rather than displacing the boner. If I've got blood flow, my glans shines through the fabric, very sexy. so not the best for stripping to in public but it doesn't get sweat logged badly I don't think. The older 100% cotton pairs have lately one by one all sprouted holes for my ballsack to poke through. the briefs have a very minimal waistband, so they slink down sexily a bit, the newer hanes variant look have a bit more structure in the string bikini waist band tham the old ones. The bikini briefs are what I bought Dad (no I haven't seen him in them), seems to like them, minus the sagging down.
More recently I have some Hanes cotton poly modal spandex blend --thin fabric-- boxer briefs that have an attempt at an inner pouch support, they'requite nice actually though I did stitch the support upwards to the waistband a bit more on one pair to make sure everything was taut enough my thighs weren't in contact, lately on the others I just fold the waistband over. inner thigh chafe coverage is sometimes quite vital, plus I'd rather wear something with coverage in some settings, and that includes anywhere with poison ivy, it's growing into the fucking lawn so I really gotta keep my eyes peeled running the string trimmer.
Thanks again!
