Britain is uptight. In my local hotel steam room I wear a thong. I'm the only one who does; the other guys all wear dork shorts that usually cover to below the knee! Women usually wear a one piece swimsuit, occasionally a bikini.

It'll be a brutal El Niño year, just wait for your ancient window unit AC to struggle and die and then you'll have a whole house sized sauna for free, provided heat stroke risk doesn't deter you.

As an earlier member wrote in Germany, Switzerland, Austria it is considered unhygenic not to be naked in a sauna or steam room: I agree that it is bizarre to be clothed in a sauna (but courteous to sit on a towel) - it is even more bizarre to be clothed in a steam room.

I went to one in ATL. Loved it. Like Some members have brought up that they've seen people clothed, I believe it has to be a few things based on living in the States. The stigma of being naked around other men i.e. ashamed of their package or issues with their body, that the middle to younger aged men either aren't use to, or find that it's "gay". A lot of older folks don't care about being naked cause they were either in the Military, or there were part of the generation that it was mandatory to swim naked in high school/us open showers. Or they're at the age of not giving a fuck. Only a select few youngins nowadays will go into a sauna, steam room, or a whirlpool pool nude based on kind of the same things I brought up. Not caring, or prior military.

Y'all correct me if I'm wrong with any of these assumptions, or expand on my observations. These are just some things I honestly could try to come up with based on my experience.

I wish schools required showers and jockstraps these days. It would easily fix the nudity issues our boys and men are experiencing

The problem is that we are in a new age of puritanism and prudery.

Had a pleasant surprise today.

I use the sauna at the gym almost daily, either jocked with a towel over it, or naked with a towel wrapped around my waist.
It is a small sauna, about 4' by 8', only room for about 4 guys seated and 1 standing. I know of only 3 or 4 other older guys that go in naked, but always a towel around their waists . The rest are usually teens, wearing the short compression shorts, usually a shirt, sox, shoes, and always a cell phone.
I just sat down jocked and toweled and enjoyed my half hour sweating.
If there is a next time I think I'll say something like "Glad to see somebody normal in here" and drop the towel, at least. Maybe even take my jock off, and sit on my towel. Do you think he will take it the wrong way?

Oops sorry lol the old ‘Queens Sauna’ days.. That place was just like the Korean spa club you described, they closed for awhile and reopened but last I heard in order to use the sauna you would have to get the massage service too
