jockstrap and the Earlier years of the internet

While I was a sports guy and spent a lot of time in the locker room after graduating from college and not belonging to a gym, since I had all the equipment at home, I turned to the internet to see what was out there. While I did not have internet in 1998 my parents did, and I was house sitting for the weekend. OH MY I was up until 3 in the morning searching for things. First it was cars and I figured out I wanted a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Even printed everything out. Well, after a few beers I typed in jockstrap and found ALLKINK and saw the image of Brett Farve in the locker room just strapped. Fortunately, I did learn to clear browser history since at work we needed to so we did not overload the computer.

The internet was basic and mostly AOL and a dial up internet. I found AOL M4M and had a great time. Often asking guys if they had a jockstrap. There was also Gay.com which did not allow for pictures, and it was slow. Yes, you could go into private chats. That was fun as well. There were no profiles and you had to generate one when you signed in. I did meet many guys at the time, avoided the ones who where into bareback, but always wanted a guy to be strapped and most were into it. I did offer one up if they did not have one and lost several that way.

Anyone else remember the begging of how they played on the internet searching for jockstraps and then finding friends to play with?

My big discovery about the fetisism at the internet was not in jockstrap topic, but I think the experience was the same. I remember dial-up internet. It was slow to connect and download pictures. Long before camera phones, fewer pictures, more written content. Finding the different forums, marveling at others oppinion and and feelings, discovering how many variations there are. Lack of video or sound chanels, ever communication was in written, reading others experiences about it and saw the questions about the topic. As a newly coming felt that a new dimension was opened and realized I am not alone in the world with this interest and it isn't "shamefull". I was so excited by the new opportunity that I even had the courage to go to a meeting. Then the gate opened wider and wider, the access speed accelerated, and additional interests came. For example what I've lerned here that I never thought there were so many types of hard cups.

I even swapped a few well-seasoned jocks with Tom. This was also the early days of eBay, the online auction site. My first acquisition was a heavily-raunched, vintage Bike jockstrap. This was before eBay's crackdown on selling used unwashed under gear. I still have that jock and keep it a sealed ziploc bag. I have not added to it and it still reeks of the male I got it from.
