I've done both. I pretty much only wear jocks for underwear, so usually I'll strip down, take off the jock I wore to work, and then put on the jock i'm gonna wear for my workout. Love it when I can tell guys take notice.

Hardly anyone wears a jock at my gym. In fact hardly anyone changes clothes and showers at my gym. I don't get it. Who wants to leave the gym and go home sweaty?

I almost always wear a jock under my gym clothes to workout in. But I never change at the gym and while we do have private restrooms and private showers, I have no need to use them. My house is 1.1 miles away from the gym. Almost always during the summer I run the mile to the gym, either use the weight room or take a workout class, and then run the mile home. I have no need to shower at the gym. And even in winter when it’s snowing, and I drive to the gym on my way home from work, I go right home so I shower at home where no one can see me. Lol. Yes most guys in gyms are modest at least when it comes to not showing their underwear(myself included in that’s when it comes to the setting of a gym) and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. My attitude is ( and most guys I know and that I work out with share the same attitude) when I’m at the gym, I’m there to put in hard work, make progress and I’m not there to show off. I’m there for me and to improve myself. So I’m not focused on what other guys think of what I look like.

Also the way I “handle business in the locker room ! I’m occasionally asked about my jockstrap [habit] by other guys with n the locker room who possibly notice my confidence [body language] with strapping ! idk, used to be gym showers were "gang showers" (one big open room). Now there are shower stalls. Are guys really so modest?

I’d call it “societal sensitivity!” …. Suspecting that as gay acceptance/openness became the “norm” many paranoid/phobic gym members had to at least acknowledge that someone (of the same gender) would actually be allowed to look at them naked while using a gang shower head ! In reality, even most straight men like the [unspoken] body appreciation from another guy. Maybe some paranoid guys thought that legitimizing homosexuality was also an approval of sexual harassment in public nudity. Part of more recent “modesty” might be attributed to the proliferation of cellphone (thus, camera) use everywhere we go. Despite posted notices banning cell phones in the shower/sauna//spa areas of my gym, I regularly see guys using their phones inside the sauna, or “wet areas!” This discomfort with body acceptance is something that seems to be oddly linked to American culture. Many other cultures accept same-gender nudity (even require it) in bathing, spa, sauna, and similar social rituals !
In recent years the two male gang shower rooms at my gym, have been modified with stalls at less than half of the shower heads in each shower room. Therefore, a choice is now available. It seems that most of the guys still choose an open shower head, as this allows unobstructed conversation with another in almost any part of the shower room. Likewise, most of us seem comfortable, even proud of our “normalized” social nudity. In reality, I believe the facility also realizes a maintenance cost savings with the open showers and fewer “privacy” (dividers/curtains) items to clean/maintain.

Agree, bring your jock in your gym bag and put it on in the locker room. When your work is done, hit the showers and leave your jockstrap out where it can be seen by other guys. Chances are it will disappear by the time you finish your shower.

LOL Towel Dance. The one gym I belonged to in early 2000 there was one good looking guy. He was strapped and did the towel dance when he stripped down to take a shower. What I found to be interesting is he did his best to watch me strap up. I usually got a locker in the back of the locker room and there was a wall phone. I am a 3" dude and I agree the white, black and grey are the safest. But to me there is nothing wrong with dark blue, burgundy or even red. Mostly a regular jock is just what I wear.

If I go first thing in the morning then I'm jocked when I arrive. However, if I do a lunchtime/afternoon workout, then I'm packing my jock in my gym bag and changing into it at the gym. My preference is always to change into it at the gym, but I get a better workout first thing in the AM.

I wear a jock just about every day. Pre covid, I would workout before work. I would get up put on my jock and gym clothes and go to the gym. After I would shower and dress for work at the gym. I din't wear a jock to gym, so I would put on a pair of briefs after showering. I like colorful underwear, so it would usually be some color other than white or black and something a little smaller than normal Hanes/Jockey/FoTL. Hopefully, I will feel comfortable going back to the gym sometime soon. Until then, I just continue to work out in just my strap at home!

There's nothing wrong with whatever one wants to wear. But if you are concerned to the point of not even changing in the locker room, then go traditional jockstrap. No one will know if jocks are fetish or just a support article of clothing.

Is there a better look?. Is any item more comfortable? What other garmet makes your cock feel so good? What else protects you as well? I think you need to have a certain confidence and belief in yourself to feel comfortable wearing one. Most of the men my age 65+ don't have a second thought about wearing their jocks. There are times when our locker room and gym get crowded and Moms will bring their sons into shower. They just walk in with their kids; and we are not running to find a towel. It didn't bother me in the leas and being intimidated does not seem like a manly response. Heck, I'm proud and yet I may not perfect. Exposing myself to women is not my objective unless it goes that way. I'm, a man's man and I enjoy me sharing time naked in a locker room with another man. It a primary reason to work out.
