Prior to retiring, I was an early riser (in more ways than one) and would hit the gym about 06:30 every morning because I never knew when my workday would end.
I’d just pull on some gym shorts and a tee shirt or a sweatsuit if it was cold out, grab my shave kit and dress clothes for the day and head for the locker room. There was a fairly regular group of guys there every morning doing the same thing. Most would strip down and usually hit the steam room or sauna for a bit to get the blood flowing then suit up in jocks and workout gear to get their daily exercise /workout in then strip down again for sauna or steam before hitting the gang showers. There was always a very high amount of communal nudity taking place. Lots of times there was group conversations taking place and guys would stand around chatting while totally nude or in jocks or in their briefs or boxers. It was always a pleasurable way to start the day.

Def go for it. A white or black Gym jockstrap is the classic jockstrap that would be worn there. The only thing better would be an actual Bike version. Even if you are the only one there wearing a jock, so what? Maybe you would inspire someone else to wear one.

Strap up at the gym and say WTF. I belonged to one gym and I think I was the only guy who strapped up. I would strip down to my BIKE jock and walk thought the locker room and jump on the scale. I got some looks but wrestlers use to do this in the middle of a hug weigh in session. Who cares what you wear and if someone make a comment just say I sweat a lot and do not like the swash feeling of briefs or compression shorts. They only promote Jock itch which I try to avoid.
I had a ragging case in HS by never washing my lucky jock. Since then I am a sweet smelling jock guy until I hit the gym. Since my gate swings both ways there was a Biker Cop I was banging. He loved my fresh jock from the gym. I finally had to cut him free when he spent too much time with my gym bag.

Dilemma, do you wear your jock to the gym under your street cloths or do you wear other underwear so that you can put your jock on while you are standing at your locker and in full view.

Regular underwear, so I can get naked and take my time putting my jock on. Both activities are worthy. Most men over 50 are quite comfortable getting naked and putting on a jock; it was if we were a fraternity of proud average men. Hairy men, like me seem to take more time. While I'm not really into obese men, men who are 30 or 40 lbs overweight can be quite interesting, especially if they are hairy. Being just a bit hairy is just as good as very hairy men. I consider that average; and we are just as sexy as six pack ab guys.. Men with cocks 6" are more interesting than very well endowed men.
