Anyone have experience with dance belts

My nepjhew's pre-adolescent son is athletic and energetic. To burn off that the energy, the young man has been taking dance classes for several years. According to my nephew, his son is a pretty good dancer.

The young man is about to hit puberty. He also about to be promoted to an upper level dance class. One of his teachers said that he will need a dance belt. My nephew didn't know anything about dance belts and all I know is what I read on the internet.

If anyone has suggestions or advice, I would be much obligated (as would my nephew and his son)

Why is he in dance instead of something like football or wrestling?
My nephews did dance once. They never joined again after the recital (they looked terrible in their... Costumes?)
They joined baseball and loved it. The youngest did football, baseball, and wrestling for a while, eventually staying with wrestling for years.

Horny as fuck all the time
My great nephew needs constant action. Team sports are okay as long as he is the center of attention. When he isn't he is easily bored
From what I understand (I could be wrong) it’s not uncommon for athletes to take up something like dance, gymnastics or something in off season because it improves their balance, precision and flexibility when on the field. When the dance competition “so you think you can dance” came back after being on hiatus, one of the top two contenders was a quarterback.

I have a friend who danced professional ballet so I asked him. He said Amazon has quite the selection of them. He called them really thick underwear and said they suck but they work. It’s basically a wide tightening belt for core and back support married to a gaft. He recommended a white, black and nude. “And it's ok for the front panel to be tight. You want a general shape not an imprint. Or an inside full lycra and outside cotton.” He said get a couple that fit and measure waist in a year to see if you need to go up a size. Let me know if you have more specific questions and I can get you some answers. :)

.....not only *that* but, *dance* (ballet) really helps a lot with *conditioning and toning* the body...and you use muscles you wouldn`t otherwise normally use...so you actually gain muscle...and also end up with some *great-looking legs" and a firmer midsection!...I personally never took dance or ballet...I had a friend and coworker who did (he was slightly chubby and without any body-definition before he took dance (ballet) classes...and they really made quite a difference for him!...he became stronger, slimmer, more toned and well-defined, more well-balanced, with more self-confidence, and great legs!... all pluses!

Not sure what age you talking about but boys started wearing belt around 8 or 9, typically whenever jumps are part of the routines or starts wearing tights. Get the tan/flesh colored one, they come in a full seat version but if he thinks he will continue dancing then get the traditional thong back. He will say it feels weird for a little bit but will get used to it. It's meant to be tight so nothing moves while dancing.

I never danced but I've bought a few dance belts for curiosity sake. While I don't love the thong back, I understand the thought process with such thin revealing tights. But overall they are incredibly supportive - very tight but the lift and compression is hard to top.

It always fascinated me that this seems to be the one sport/activity that has maintained an emphasis on proper support for everyone, from a very young age even. It almost seems like the PE classes of yesteryear - everyone's wearing a support, really no questions asked, seems like.

I bought a cheap one just to see what it was like. These things have serious support maybe a bit uncomfortable. Unfortunately no jockstrap lines though. They were designed to prevent visible lines under tights.

.....hey there JockBear, Thanks for going and getting a dance-belt and actually *showing* us what one looks like!...I have heard of a dance-belt before...and I knew that male ballet dancers always wore them under leotards, but, I have never actually seen one before!,,,I wondered why they called it a "belt"...I guess because they kinda hold you in and keep genitals in place.....so, they prevent any kind pf underwear/jockstrap-lines under a guy`s leotard...interesting!...I bet it was designed by a woman...because, she didn`t like seeing a guy`s cock and balls *bulge* through a leotard...or found it distracting whenever a guy`s cock would shift around!...yeah, I guess *that* could become pretty *distracting* during an on-stage dance/ballet presentation!...I know that I would surely be distracted!...and, the only thing I ever liked in ballet is.....seeing a guy`s big *bulge* in his leotard.....but, that dance-belt (weird name for it) seems to pretty much *fuse-out* any possible *cock and balls outlines*.....damn!...what a shame!

.....what?...go "up" in size in about a year or so?...I thought that dance/ballet was supposed-to *condition* a person...help them to *firm-up* and lose-weight, and gain muscle?...why would someone need to get a "larger-size dance-belt when they are actually *tightening, firming, toning, and conditioning* their body...and losing weight, gaining-muscle in the process?...very confusing!...those things sure don`t look like they`d be very comfortable...must really take some getting-used-to!...oh!...I almost forgot the best-part...dance/ballet *firms-up your ass* and can really tighten everything-up...no wonder those dancer`s asses always look so *great* in ( and out of ) those leotards!...glad i finally got to see what a *dance-belt* looks like!...I doubt if I will be rushing-out to get one of those!...my preference is *jock-straps!*...and I love how I can be wearing gym-shorts over a jockstrap...but, my ass still feels like it`s *bare*...a great-feeling!...especially, when you`re around others!.....and especially when you are *outdoors...and around other people!...your "tush" feels so great!.....so, what`s the *back* of that dance-belt look like?...just regular underwear?...does that dance-belt feel hot, heavy, or pretty *confining*?...my genitals like a light, airy, and roomy environment

You have to think of it from a young adolescent point of view. They are just going through puberty. Their genitals, hips, ass and everything is going to get bigger. Thighs will get bigger. They can’t wear youth size forever. Yes dancing will lean you out and develop those muscles, but the children will hit growth spurts and may go up in size as their bodies grow. Also alas ballet was created by a man. He had to come up with a new style of dance and was watching his two daughters playing with their dolls and making them dance. Ta dah ballet was born. He wanted to recreate the look of the dolls dance. Dolls don’t have genitalia. Their feet weren’t flexible so they danced on their toes. From that the makeup and attire were developed. However gafts I believe predate that as it wasn’t very proper to have visible cock lines when women were present. Remember it was only virgins who were worth anything (marriage and making babies). If she didn’t have her virtue-town whore it was and that disgraced the entire family. VCL’s were crude. Fortunately we all got over that and embraced our inner sluts!

.....Thanks for clarifying all that!.....yeah, I wasn`t looking at it from a pre-adolescent point of view...and realizing how quickly they can grow and change and get way taller...and I really do appreciate that you explained all that...and it definitely straightened out my confusion.....I`m grateful!
