For as long as I can remember, my grandfather has always worn a jock for swimming. Sometimes a swimmer jock, sometimes a three incher—all my uncles and father as well—and once I was old enough, I as well. Sometimes the jocks would hang out the top of the swimsuits, sometimes you could see through the suits and just see a jock, but with all of our big family vacations, jocks were always worn. There were always swimsuits with jocks on top hanging off chairs, railings or tables to dry. I grew up wearing jocks so for me to wear one under a swimsuit is just what you do. I typically wear squarcuts with a jock, but have trunks and board shorts I wear jocks with as well.
Fast forward to several weekends ago…
I went to visit my grandparents at their retirement community. My grandfather takes swim exercise classes for his back and wanted me to join him. I had not brought any type of swimwear, but he said he had me covered. The next day three of my grandfather’s friends come over to pick us up. We get to the center, check in and head to the locker room. My grandfather pulls out a speedo and a swimmer jock. All his friends were pulling the same out of their bags as well. While I’m no stranger to wearing a jock with a swimsuit, I’ve never worn one with a speedo. When I do wear a speedo I never wear a jock. I asked my grandfather how this was going to work. He said, I’ll show you. He put on the swimmer jock. Took both straps and put them up his ass crack like a thong. He then put on the speedo and adjusted the waistband so it would sit at the same place as the speedo. A bit odd—felt like a thong, but it worked! All of his friends were doing the same thing as well. Is this a way of wearing a jock with a speedo I didn’t know about? I just found the whole thing fascinating. So if you want to wear a jock with a speedo, I got you covered!
