Jockstrap at a Physical

I also had a doctor who encouraged me to grab the lube and enjoy some time alone or with a friend if I chose. He said my prostate would be very glad I did. He was right and I was so sad when he retired.

I was sad when mine retired too. I think he might have been a fun older guy.

Since I always wear a strap it is always what I have on for a physical. A few doctors have said a strap will actually offer the best support for the ligaments that support the scrotum. I have worn swimmer jocks, fashion jocks and sport jocks to a physical. After the prostate exam, I always make sure to wipe the lubricant off well, so I don’t have a spot in the back of my pants or shorts…

Did they mention during your physical about jockstraps offering the best support for ligaments that support the scrotum ?

Anyone ever wear a jockstrap to a physical? As medical provider it makes things much easier and faster but almost no one does. Perhaps a trend will start.

At the dr office I wasn’t quite sure what to do and ended up stripping down to just my socks. Hahaha, as if that was any better. There was a definite pause when the Dr. entered the exam room. But then he just did his thing and told dress up while he typed into his computer.

So after all that I was left to put the fucking jock on in front of him causing what I thought was a slight smile.

I wonder what he typed into his computer then.

Had he seen you in both jock & socks, he may have thought you were planning to hit the gym or do some strenuous activity. If anything, it would/could be considered a healthy thing to protect and support your groin.

50 was pretty much the IDGAF age for me too. Although it took a couple years for me to get my nipples pierced, and to start wearing jocks regularly.

Not to a physical, but when I broke my arm playing baseball I went to the E.R. in my baseball uniform including cup. Before they did the x-rays and stuff the Dr. asked me if I would like to remove my gear to be more comfortable and I said no thanks it wasn't bothering me. A little later when they were getting ready to cast my arm his assistant, also male, helped me slip my shirt off and wanted to know if I also wanted him to help me remove my cup. By now the bulge in my pants was more than just the cup, so this time I said sure! He reached in there, got that cup out like a pro and put it in a bag with my other things.

The dermatologist does a complete body check, front and back, head to toes INCLUDING your bat and balls, for skin cancers, So he does the same as above doctors, but after you pull your jock back in place he asks you to flip over to examine the entire back of your body.. No need to pull your jock down as he has easy access to checking DEEP between your cheeks . A real rush to be so exposed and thoroughly examined and touched in a clinical setting.

I accept the gown so I don't appear to be an exhibitionist. All my doctors except my eye doctor are Males. The Urologist and Dermatologist always check out my junk so I know they will get a view gown or not. Perhaps female doctors don't go THERE unless you point out a specific concern is the Region. I tend to get small cysts in my sack so that is the reason I get the pleasure of such a COMPLETE exam. You may have to come up with a CONCERN yourself to direct the MD to the AREA.

Totally. I go to dermotologist 3 times for my moles a year for full body skin exam and it’s a rush.

And here I thought I was the only one showing up at the dermatologist in a jockstrap

I accept the gown so I don't appear to be an exhibitionist. All my doctors except my eye doctor are Males.

I claim to be "old school" as I used to have visits before gowns were opffered to males. Especially if your docs are male docs, I don't really understand the necessity for a male to wear a gown when the doc is male also. But then again, that may be because I'm old school.

My pediatrician always had me in my underwear,as did my first doctor after I turned 18. One doctor gave me a small towel for my lap, and another never even saw me with my shirt off. My last doc was a gown. He retired. My new one hasn't given me a physical yet

I try defer to the patient’s comfort level. A patient in a jocks makes in easier and quicker, and I am more likely to notice if anything is unusual in how they move and all of their skin. I personally do not wear gowns when offered as they are always too tight and too short that I figure what is the point.

If a towel wasn't a choice I guess I would go with my underwear/jock if I were told to undress to where I was comfortable. I had a doctor who included an anoscopy in my physical, so a jock instead of underwear might have been helpful.

I was 18. It was my first "adult" physical, and my only one with this doctor, since he had a medical issue, retired, and closed his practice soon after.

Not from lack of trying! I regret his retirement, and wonder how subsequent exams may have gone. He did my hernia check after the anoscope, and had me do a couple kegels to straighten things out.
