I was at a hotel in AZ a while back and a guy was getting out of the pool, and when he did his trunks came down a little revealing a 3" waistband jock. The guy I was with at the pool side table started to snicker. I asked him why he was laughing and he said not a lot of guys wear jocks anymore and he thought it was funny seeing a guy wear one at the pool. I stood up and lowered the front of my trunks a little to reveal my Bike logo and told him it wasn't as uncommon as he thought it was.
I told him most of the trunks I've worn have uncomfortable liners and I always swap out the liners and wear a jock instead. I also told him I wear jocks when I run and when I workout (at the gym or at home).
He said he stopped wearing them during high school when a lot of other guys stopped wearing theirs. He said he hasn't owned one in years.
It blows my mind that there are men out there that just don't care enough to protect themselves because, "Other guys stopped wearing them." Jockstraps are made to protect, so do what I did and tell your friends to grow up and don't worry about the other guys. Wear a jock when you need to, or even when you want to. It is your decision, not anyone else.
