Gym/steam room etiquette

What is the general thought on a jockstrap in the steam room/sauna? Post workout at the gym, jock or no jock? The gym I occasionally attend, where at 52 I'm one of the younger visitors, jockstraps are not uncommon. I have worn mine into both the sauna and steam room but I'm wondering if I broke some unmentioned rule by doing so. I showered in my jock before entering and sat on a towel. No one has ever said anything or looked twice. I even had a man in his 70's comment that he was glad the jockstrap wasn't dead. And, it's an everyday scene of a small group of old men having a conversation in the nude in the the locker room. So, I don't think it's an issue. I'm just curious about everyone's thoughts.

Actually, upon entering the steam room, I observed one solo dude in the steam working on his own piece, not really caring if anyone noticed. I Didn’t have the balls to ask him about his possible connection to my discovery. Yet, we eventually realized a mutual “salute” and admiration of each others’ impressive growth spurts…. and “spitting snake heads” He later acknowledged “at my age, it’s wise to enjoy a good erection when it happens”… as his way of apologizing for [incorrectly] assuming that I would find his [very natural, healthy] actions somehow offensive! I suggested that were both on the “same page“ in knowing that [we] guys sometimes need to take “[our] pressing needs into our own hands” … as we had just witnessed !

I've never been to a gym with a sauna, so I'm not sure there.
However, I always strip down completely before putting on/taking off my jock. I walk naked to the showers, towel hanging around my neck. A few old guys do the same. Most guys my age don't even shower, let alone jocking up.
I'm 32.

My Y change room everyone is naked from younger to older. Some wear jocks. There is sauna steam and jacuzzi as well as open showers so plenty to see. There is one guy who went in same time every lunchtime. - stripped off suit - worked out and then would go shower. He was about 6 2 super fit - great body but not over developed and a nice package - though more of a grower I suspect.
always a pleasure to shower when he does . He is completely oblivious though as to how many guys watch him come in and out.

.....HA HA HA...no man!...I don`t ever wear just a towel or only a jockstrap to mow the lawn...I`d be arrested if I did!...I do always wear a jockstrap (under short-pants) to mow the lawn...and sometimes even boxer-briefs over the jockstrap (under the short-pants, of course)...the jockstrap gets totally soaked from sweat that way and smells so awesome!...then, I put it in a ziplock bag to retain that wonderful aroma!...I don`t think I`d sweat nearly so much if I only wore the jockstrap...I may decide to try that...only in the *back-yard* though...way more private!.....I had to laugh...I didn`t realize I made it seem like I mowed the lawn in a jockstrap with a towel over it...pretty funny!...maybe I will try that if I am doing laundry and no clean short-pants to wear

I’ve actually mowed both my yards in my old baseball DUKE jock with hardcup! And that was all I wore (private country house)…. Til I discovered the young guy down the street would come watch me while jackin’ off behind my oak tree!! When I discovered this, I put on a good show for him taking off my sweat-drenched jock cup, jacked off into it, and then threw it several yards to him…

50's here, too, and have the same concern sometimes. If you're confident wearing your jock around the locker room and in the sauna, that will put the other guys at ease. Old school BIKE fan, as well!

I wear a jock in the locker room, no issues. Plus, I've hit my mid-40s and my DGAF runs pretty high. We don't have a sauna.
