I mean, he's not wrong. Jocks are still being used for what the purpose they were invented - protect and support the testicles. It's the primary purpose. However, they've been adopted by a whole other culture that uses them for the aesthetic they provide - highlighting, accentuating and focusing attention on the male anatomy. Then add fashion to the mix and you have a trend. Look at natural selection in nature. Typically the males of species are flashier, showier and more colorful. Why wouldn't a garment that allows us to draw attention to the most sexual part of our bodies be a natural way to 'peacock' and show off?

You are correct, sir! get some popular dude that exudes masculinity being 'himself' and the fanboys would be all over mimicking him.
I still wear a jockstrap at the gym,or when I'm going to the pool,etc. If people see me wearing one,when I'm getting changed,I'm cool with that.
