Apparently jockstraps are making a come back. They were in Men’s fashion week in Paris this year and likely in Men’s fashion week in NYC. Obviously very couture, but that usually causes a trickle down to the plebs.

Ok, so some guys think jockstraps are gay. What about the current fashion now hitting the streets with millennials and Gen Z? The short, way high upper thigh length shorts? My 30 something neighbor sports a pair that JUST covers overything up, but admittedly look super on him. Well, so the story goes, anything gay eventually hits the straight fashion scene. Same with jockstraps.

This is so true. Many don’t know the benefits. I don’t understand why more guys don’t try these? I’m a runner and I hate compression and the “built in brief liner” in shorts these days.

Compression - everything just gets squashed and they get too hot in the warmer months - the synthetic fabrics trap in heat

On shorts with the built in liner - well these are a joke. I’ve tried multiple pairs and I might as well wear boxers or free ball because the support is laughable.

I’d be curious how many guys just accept the poor quality of the built-in liner because they don’t know that there are much better alternatives. I swear the best thing about an athletic jock versus compression shorts or liner is that a jock is so secure you almost forget you’re wearing it

I think it’s that they don’t know how much better a jock is (I mean, if you’ve never worn one, they don’t LOOK comfortable)

but also - the built in liner is one less thing to wash so I know this is a reason.

I also feel like there’s this stereotype that men like to be commando and a jock is quite the opposite
