Unless you know you’re HIV negative, know that you’re clear of syphilis and gonorrhoea, know whether your Hepatitis B protection is still working and you’re taking PrEp on a regular basis, why wouldn’t you?
Even then you can still catch antibiotic resistant gonorrhoea or syphilis.
I’d imagine that along with many guys in my age range on this site, I’ve been lucky in the past, but luck can, and probably will, run out eventually.
In 2012 The UK’s Terence Higgins Trust, in raising awareness around safe sex and prevention of spreading HIV, coined the slogan, ‘It starts with me’. That slogan can also be read as HIV starts with me.
