That’s really interesting. Kinda sad. I can only imagine the first time he walks into a lockerroom or gang shower.

That’s a concern of mine with homeschooling. My kids won’t get that experience. But with the way things are going, by the time they’re in middle school, I doubt kids will be changing clothes anyway.
Definitely going to make sure to be seen naked or just in my underwear around my sons to help them feel more comfortable. Changing together for swimming. Etc.

I agree. I don't think he would ever go into a locker room, let alone change in one. I even bought him some pajamas to sleep in but he still slept in his jeans. He would either shower after I went to work, or he would shower after I went to bed. Shy about his body doesn't even touch the surface.

Snow skiing. A lot of guys were changing in stages to keep themselves covered as long as possible. As Mike described below, briefs came off and jocks went on pretty quick for a lot of boys, often with a T-shirt hanging over everything. Of course, nothing was hidden in the showers!

Our junior high was 7th-8th only, so 6th grade didn't change. I know from HS classmates that at other junior highs that had 6th grade, some of them changed, some of them didn't change.

Thanks to my dad getting me warmed up to the idea in the spring, I was past being shy. Hell, I was kind of a showoff. Strip down to my briefs, put away my street clothes, take off the briefs, put those away, put on my jock, then get out the rest of my gym clothes. After class, I stripped down and walked to the shower carrying my towel, not covered by it.

We had a couple of guys in 6th & 7th grade that went around tugging shorts down when they caught guys off guard. It got a laugh or two seeing a jocked butt on a guy as his gym shorts were down around his knees. I got it once when I was on the pull-up bars, I went up and my shorts came down.

I remember once when we came in from playing softball I was standing in front of my locker and I just dropped my shorts and was about to grab my towel and drop my jock when my locker door was shut and the lock was clicked shut. There I was in a t-shirt and jock on display as I rushed to open the locker back up.

Seems like we were always foolihg around and someone's jocked butt on display was the end result. As 7th grade went on the joking around decreased, but my jocked but went on display a few more times.

That’s funny. Good natured ribbing. Wd would have two “spotters” on the pummel horse. Some unsuspecting guy would run down and try going over the thing, only to end upside down hanging onto the pummel. The spotters would insert a finger of two in their manhole while yelling “cornhole”. Pushing their jock straps or briefs deep into their hole. This confrontation would usually end up continuing in the showers without the eyes of the coach’s.

Now that isn’t like our horseplay; that would have gotten the “spotter” a black eye (and probably a sore hole!).

Good point. I was in 7th grade and these were the 8th grade guys. The middle school was only 7th and 8th. I don’t recall what ever happened to them after, either in the locker room or elsewhere.
