I’ve seen the light since - but even for me, high school 2002-2006, never a mention of jocks in PE, nobody dared wear them. Probably has to be a requirement again before it would really take off. And need more options again.

I saw an old ad for Bike jocks (vintage) that said “don’t wear one without the other” and was saying basically if you are putting on gym shoes you should put on a jock

I couldn’t agree more - the briefs and compression shorts can’t possibly provide the same support. Especially when you’re smaller, I would think.

Have you just worn one as underwear for the day (fashion type) or have you worn an athletic one for say PE class?

It was a bummer to see this at Dunhams - they were always the better selection around here (western PA) vs Dicks or other places. Seems like the bottom fell out all at once - out with any variety that was left (duke, mcdavid, few bike stragglers), in with all shock doctors. And shock doctors...

I'm curious - any current dads on here now - have you gotten your son into wearing a jock? Please don't take this anywhere creepy - just wondering if anyone's still trying to pass this along to the next generation! (I have a son on the way but we're not nearly at that point now!)

I've occasionally searched around to see if jocks are actually still a requirement in some places. Here - PE class - where it was probably almost universal at one time. Speaking from my own experience, jocks were never even mentioned in middle school or high school, much less a requirement...

Has a doctor ever recommended wearing a jockstrap/cup to you? Either in recent years, or growing up at the pediatrician? Curious if any doctors give/gave advice on that.
