What kind of cup should I get if I want to do rodeo (saddle bronc, bull).
Thanks for the advice & video.Shock doctor carbon flex is the most comfortable well built cup I've worn. It has a fairy deep shell. Skip the shock doctor jock and put it in any other cup jock that you like to wear under your Wranglers. Which reminds me of this video for Janglers

I wore a Franklin cup years back that's comfortable pressed against the seat. Sometimes I wear a Franklin cup in a Martin jock. The Martin jock is snug so my cup doesn't get pushed out of the way. The Martin cup is comfortable on the bike and wearing it all day. Please post your thoughts and pics. Thanks for the advice. I have Shock Doctor, Bike, Duke, and McDavid cups which are great but will take your advice and check out a Martin. Thanks!
What comes to mind would be the Nutty Buddy cup. It’s a little on the expensive side, but it works extremely well compared to the other cups mentioned above. The “tail” sits farther back for added protection. That cup is also doesn’t pinch or require you to constantly have to readjust it. I’ve had to use it when I did MMA, and I use it when I do armed security at big events. Hardly can tell I’m wearing it. Other people really can tell I’m wearing it when I wear my tactical pants. What kind of cup should I get if I want to do rodeo (saddle bronc, bull).

Like to cup a jock buddyI find
Shock Doctor really grest ……rubber edging feels good against the body. flexible. and 3. large vent holes.
I think you. will need the Shock Doc jock to go with it…..it’s too big to fit in ordinary jocks.
A strong contender is Bad Boy……not as flexible as Shock Doc I think it offers very strong protection. exceptionally. well-vented. it .,has 4. large vent holes. in the main cup There are 2 holes at the top and 2 more at the bottom. which I think may be used for straps and leg-ties.Plus I like the colour! See pics. attached
I would avoid a Bike cup. Years ago training in MMA I tried the Bike cup and I found it to be too rigid. No flex when moving my legs. I always had bruised up inner thighs from taking falls, practicing leg sweeps etc. Took a groin kick and the rim of the cup pinched my left testicle.
I would recommend something flexible.
Overall I'm not a big fan of a cup.
I'm not a fan of cups but they can be absolutely essential. I wouldn't dream of sparring or playing certain baseball positions if I wasn't cupped.I would avoid a Bike cup. Cup in this photo is a Shock Doctor carbon flex. Deep shell and pretty comfortable. It does produce a noticeable bulge.Shock doctor carbon flex is the most comfortable well built cup I've worn. I would have assumed that bronc and bull riders wear a cup but haven't read much on it. Would be interested to hear what some of your fellow riders prefer (if they do wear a cup). A few years back there was a bronc rider that had a HUGE bulge under his wranglers so I can only assumeMainly thinking about getting stomped or gorged. I already had Bike & McDavid cups and thanks to the good advice I got here I recently purchased Shock Dr. & Nutty Buddy cups. The Shock Dr.is great but haven't worn the Nutty Buddy yet. Looking forward to giving it a ride.
When I started MMA a major problem was my cup moving all over the place, especially when I kicked. I wasn't until I started wearing the MMA Cup + compression shorts with its built-in jockstrap that this issue disappeared. It's expensive but my cup stays firmly in place and does its job.Ouuf.. it's rough when cups go against their purpose and create pain.
@Baseball Jock, did you want a cup for just the up and down roughness of riding, or was it in case you get stomped, like in the 8 Seconds movie? You probably don't need a metal cup unless you're worried about getting stomped by the bull. In any case, let us know how it goes!
LOL and one of those is mineProtective athletic cups arouse me greatly. In fact, I have a bate fuel folder containing over a hundred images of cups. Cup porn! Personally, I own only three cups: a gray vintage Bike 80, a yellow Original Banana Cup (OBC) and a vintage JOFA hockey cup/jock combo. Check out these impressive cup collections:
