Not quite the same , Vera is set in adjacent Counties near to or adjacent to Yorkshire (mostly Northumberland and Durham).There are some similarities in dialect though as all the areas in that part of England share dialect words from earlier Viking influence.

Sithee, Texas models itself on Yorkshire, in that it’s proudly independent, the largest state (county) in the country and despite having come a close second in the Wars of the Roses Yorkshire people knows that everyone else is secretly envious of them! Also, as one Yorkshireman said when told that it takes all day to cross Texas in a train, ‘Aye, appen we’ve trains that go reet slow an’ all’.
Nah then, I’m off for a wesh in watter, have me snap ‘n’ a rayt good wet or two afterwards.

Don't ask a man if he from Yorkshire, if he is, he will already have told you, and if he is not he will be too embarrassed to admit it!

I only ask for confirmation afterward. If I can’t understand what he’s yelling and moaning when we’re fucking, then I can usually at least guess the origin of the accent/dialect.

Yep, not even in sports direct.... Gotta get them online. I don't even know if rugby players wear jocks anymore to be honest.
