Seems like they know that their audience isn't just regular athletes/active guys who need jocks. I do think that they'll be more successful in the long run by catering to jockstrap enthusiasts/fetishists.

Does feel a little bit weird since they’re very self-aware of their hardcore fan base, but catering to them (us) might be a good business strategy in the long run.
