Do you think more men would switch to jockstraps if they tried them for a few weeks? What stops them from trying?
That's a really good answer. I often reflect on why I waited so long. My reasons are a little different than fetish, I started to get sore working and tried them based on recommendations and I learned to learned to love them. Now I'm hooked! If you are thinking of gay or bi men, most are probably aware of what a fetish straps have become in our communities. We just wish they all wore them all the time - and swapped them!
If it's straight men, hockey and lacrosse players probably are already very familiar with jocks, though probably not for wearing for sexual stimulation. That fetish might develop, as some men on here have shown. Our openly wearing jockstraps in lockerrooms and saunas might help to encourage others to start. Young men might try them as they come to associate them with exhibitionist older men, in good shape or otherwise.
What do you all think, guys?
Great times in college! Lol. What decade was this? I never encountered anything like this in the 90s.Jockstraps use to be common. I played a lot of sports in HS and Collage. Change collages and did not play anymore sports. In my 5th year of college. I returned to the original collage and was no longer in the jock dorm, but most guys were some sort of a jock. We all worked out and it was assumed everyone had a jockstrap. I am not sure who had the idea, but it was funny. Girls on our floor were pleading a sorority. You could call them and they would read you a bed time story for $5.00. Someone thought we should order up a bedtime story, pack all the guys in a room while wearing nothing but a jockstraps a and paper bag on our head. All I remember is our floor RA, who was male, said how can you not own a jockstrap. Well I had more than enough. It was the first time I gave out jocks to anyone other then a team member. I did not expect them back since I could go and buy 5 more. We all strapped up and got our bedtime story. Then the girls got even and ripped off paper bags. Some, like me got out early but they did leave a few guys naked, taking their jocks and laughing.
Good man! Jockstraps can be both practical and erotic... Depending on the scene. That's a really good answer. I often reflect on why I waited so long. Well, I had as fellow BB player form North Decota who asked me about the friendly roommates across the hall who questioned the double loft of out beds when I built out our room. Yes, we slept on the same level in an 8x8 space, but we were separated. The bunker was separating us but one night that BB player had a dream and was looking at my cock asking me how he wanted me to "have it".... I passed it off as a close relationship. aLove it! Apart from the girls, that dorm sounds like heaven. Do you think some of the resident jocks experimented with each other? Or is that just an imaginary trope in our stories?
Honestly, I gotta say it. I'm an underwear model and I never was into wearing one for myself. That was for my guys haha. But my photographer asked and I just thought that "well, I need this shoot, so whatever". I actually loved how it felt haha. I didn't admit it though!Do you think more men would switch to jockstraps if they tried them for a few weeks? What stops them from trying?

Athletes still wear jocks, though mainly those needing to wear a cup for rugby, MMA, baseball, hockey, lacrosse etc. I don't find guys self conscious about wearing them when they play contact sport. More a case that there are a lot of alternatives now.If you are thinking of gay or bi men, most are probably aware of what a fetish straps have become in our communities. That's disappointing! They could at least do what I did and tap into their inner Minx... haha. I wear what I'm asked toAnother perspective:
Before the pandemic, Jockstrap Central was sponsoring a weekly Thursday night Jock Night at a local gay strip bar. The only rule for the dancers were that they had to wear a jockstrap available at Jockstrap Central. We brought in jocks for them to wear and many of them actually bought jocks from us so they could have new ones for the event (plus I'm pretty sure many of them sold their used jocks).
BUT... there was always an issue trying to get the "straight" dancers to wear jocks. When asked about it, many of them wouldn't because they felt it may them look too gay. Which was wrong on so many levels: Afterall, they're a straight guy striping in a gay bar taking men to the back room and letting them fondle you (and more) - I'm sorry, but that's pretty damn gay in itself.
They had the option of not working that night but they generally made more money on Jock Night so they were always trying to "cheat" the system. Forgetting their jock, saying they had a jock but ended up not wearing it, etc.. They were that opposed to wearing one.
Funny how something that was so synonymous with masculinity, athleticism and sports is considered elsewise now.
So...
I don't think it's just one reason but many reasons why more men don't wear jocks.
More men would be wearing a jockstap if they started a young age.Do you think more men would switch to jockstraps if they tried them for a few weeks? What stops them from trying?
this. absolutely this.More men would be wearing a jockstrap if they started a young age.
Before jr high was the time for me strapped up loving it ever since.
True. Many “straight” men just need to get over themselves. Those who think every gay man wants to get into their pants (underwear - sorry, I’m a Brit) should just take a long look at themselves, they should be so lucky! People who are confident in their own sexuality don’t give two hoots about anyone else's. It's those who aren’t quite so certain who are the most concerned about wearing something or doing anything that might be perceived “queer”.There’s definitely an aversion to jockstraps outside of the work out/ sports venue.
I first wore a jock in 7th grade back when they were required for gym class. My dad was athletic and he wore a strap when he played tennis etc, so I was familiar with them. Many of my fellow students didn’t like wearing them mainly due to they didn’t fit well. I hooked immediately because mine fit well and it felt good to have it on. The next jock I had was way too tight and I could see how if that was my first experience it could turn me off.
Also that age was precarious for a guy with his budding sexuality. I’m straight but never felt fear or aversion gay. I just never gave it any thought. Other guys, well the thought of gay anything would put them in a frenzy of fear or denial. So yeah wearing something that held your package and felt good while having your bare ass exposed was for sure uncomfortable for a lot of guys.
I always found a reason to wear my jock in order to not be questioned as to why I had one on. As I got older I started to care less and less what people thought and I was more open about it. It has caused a lot of weird looks and uncomfortable (for them) social moments if the subject ever came up. There’s definitely an awkward social stigma. When I was dating no woman was ever attracted to my jocks, most just wanted it off me asap. That being said my wife grew to like them since they frame my ass and hold my junk just right. She even gives her input on what colors she wants me to get on my next strap purchase.
Another thought on this is the lack of fathers or the lack of masculine men in young boys lives. How can a boy feel comfortable wearing a jock when no one in his peer group approves and he has no male role model that sets the example for him.
Im done rambling now…I probably veered way off topic
May just want to keep a groping hand out of their asshole. Casual groping in a social gay setting can be fun however there are limits that should be but aren't always observed.Another perspective:

Thx for your post, Eastg. I had to look up Mgen, never heard of it before.May just want to keep a groping hand out of their asshole. Casual groping in a social gay setting can be fun however there are limits that should be but aren't always observed.
TMI:
I'm fairly germ averse these days after a super stressful STI situation (Mgen is more common that gonorrhea, no clinics tests for it, non-CDC-recommended treatment courses were the norm, high frequency antibiotic resistance, fluoroquinolones permanently fucked my joints up, people never heard of it), and I still end up in unclothed outdoor camping situations with these same people who couldn't or didn't bother to get tested. Fun times if you can keep your horny dick slimed fingers out of my hole bro, ruin my calm for the next year(s) while I deal with malfeasant gov apparatus and still persisting ostensibly-covid-related lab closures. Last time I do contact tracing calls myself, y'all mfers are going on a scary sounding gov clinic call list if there's ever a next time. Yay paranoid biohazard celibacy!
