"Vintage Jockstraps" sold on ebay: how I got to be a semi pseudo expert at what i'm looking at

Back in 2015, right after "doing the 180" from being a closeted jockstrap fetishist to exhibitionist, my jockstrap collection went soaring over the next few years. Much of my growing collection was coming from ebay, Which, if you've seen some prices they're asking for jockstraps that come up in a search for "vintage jockstraps", you can understand how that can make you go broke. Especially after getting in a few literally "down to the last minute" bidding wars....and winning.

Now despite having almost more jockstraps than I can wear, I can't help but check out ebay every now and then to see what they have. As intrigued as I can get with various pouches, straps, and waistbands, I can now look at what they're offering, and I can tell if the straps are going to be loose, if the pouches will be too small without enough stretch to them to compensate, etc. Or sometimes I might not be able to tell you much at all, except that they be comfortable and I like them, but we all have different preferences.

This semi pseudo skill took about 5 years to develop, laregly because I got to experience wearing a lot of these different makes and styles. Which has educated me somewhat as to what they're offering.

So before you drop that big money on a nice looking jock, feel free to run it by me, and I can try to let you in on any caveats with a certain make, etc. And you can then assess for yourself if it's worth it or not.

I know what you mean about over purchasing. I have bought a huge collection of BIKE jockstraps from the 80's 90's and the last 3" #10 just before they closed shop.
And the nice thing is you have them. You can wear them whenever, different occasions, different lengths of time, etc. And if you ever wanted to part with any of them, there's always people looking to buy /trade/ whatever used straps. Although, you're probably like me in that you're not about to trade or share jockstraps you paid top dollar for on ebay. But someday if you do decide to part with any of them, you know there is a community of takers out there.

Currently I am sticking to about 16 that I wear regularly. Wash them in laundry bags and let them air dry. I have many more still in the original packaging that are boxes up.

I won't put mine in the laundry. When i want to wash them, I wear them into the shower and wash them by hand. Beginning with them still on me, and then taking them off for a final wash and rinse. Then hang them to air dry. I regret ever having put any in the washing machine way back when. But it taught me not to do it now. Washing them while wearing them is fun, and occasionally I'll make wet jockstrtap pics from being in the shower. Although it's a pain in the ass setting my tripod up in the bathroom and having the curtain open. Water tends to get everywhere.
