I have always worn Speedo briefs for the pool. I have also tried swim thongs, but many public pools are not up to that style as "legal". I also wore a swim jockstrap as a swimsuit (bare ass) at my local gym pool a few times. I had mixed reactions. The swim jock is good for private pools or nude beaches.

I have seen all styles of swimsuits for guys since I was very young and curious about anything that showed a bulge... My dad and granddad have pics of them and other guys wearing pre-speedos in the 50s.. They were tight and showed the bulge but were cut much more full. Then square cuts, many reversible, that required a jock to hold in your goodies. Then came real speedos and at the same time the early jams. Then super loose, baggies that often were worn with no jock, nothing, just flopping junk that was a turn-on for those who looked. In the late 80s speedos were what everyone seemed to wear, especially in Europe. In Europe then, nude beaches became quite popular and fluffing to show the best possible free package. Thongs and pouches were, and are popular if you are shy to show all.. So wear what you want as long as it is allowed, and enjoy showing as much as you are allowed. Don't we all love to be looked at with a bit of envy?

I have board shorts and also regular trunks where I have always cut out the linings. The regular trunks would tend to ride down and expose my 3" strap, but I did not care. I do have BIKE swimmers' straps since I am now in a condo complex and do not care for that much exposure these days. Anyone who looks will see my leg straps and I love how my jockstraps holds me snug creating a mound in my trunks while I lay on my back.
