Surprised to find them at Walmart

Much to my surprise, I saw some jockstraps for sale at Walmart. I think they were shock doctor brand. Not many to choose from, and all were cup jocks. They were on a display with baseball equipment.
maybe this is a sign that things are going back to how they should be? Maybe more boys are starting to strap up.

A few years ago I found some Wilson brand jockstraps, some with cups, at Walmart. I bought one with a cup. I still have the cup but the jock itself didn't hold up.

I found in Walmart online the one remaining Slazenger cricket jockstrap with the leg straps covered in smooth material, the way Litesomes used to be. And then found the cup, also Walmart online. I think there are quite a few south Asians in Toronto who play cricket.

Interesting. I will have to keep an eye out for them. Walmart has had a Shock Doctor selection of cups & compression shorts with cups the last few years. What I find interesting is the cups are actually a McDavid (which Shock Doctor owns) but branded Shock Doctor.

Dick's Sporting Goods is another spot that sells jocks, so does Academy Sports in house. I haven't really seen any other sporting goods stores that sells them physically.

I'm not sure if y'all have noticed, trying to find a jock on any sports stores online is ridiculous to find unless you look it up. Trying to find them through their menus makes it almost impossible to know if the store sells them. Seems like it's still a "taboo" subject for men/boys to know about protecting their balls in the States.

Both old and new style Slazenger jockstraps feel great to wear. Here in UK, Sports Direct had them either online or click&collect to a local store. Incredibly low prices sometimes too. Here there's plenty of Asians play cricket in the park and in cricket clubs.

Our area Walmart's have always had cups available but not often with a regular jock to wear them in. Many times it was only youth cups with compression shorts. Over the years they have gone from DUKE (Athletic Works) to ACE to WILSON and now Shock Doctor. It must be whomever cuts them a deal gets the shelf space.

That's fantastic! Even if it's briefs with a cup pocket... Boys need to protect their boyhoods. A cup in a brief is a gateway drug to jockstraps

I bought my Duke at Walmart like... 14-15 years ago. The selection of jockstraps has been dwindling at Walmart for years, to the point where I stopped seeing them all together.

The material in the pouch is definitely different, and seems to be cheaper, than the pouch in the Shock Doctor that I purchased (at a higher cost) at a regional sporting goods store. The packaging is unique to Walmart as well, which may indicate a Walmart specific version. More often than not, you get what you pay for - and this is the lowest priced jockstrap that I have seen in quite a while. Even with the lower quality I would encourage everyone curious to purchase one. Jockstraps at retail stores are few and far between.

The quality is probably on par with the jockstraps I've bought at Walmart when I was younger. Though they were better than the swimmers jock I bought at the dollar store...
Still kicking myself that I didn't buy more. It wasn't a particularly good jock by any means, but it looked and felt like a swimmers jock I might have found rummaging through my dad's stuff. I wore it every time I went swimming, until it went missing one day from my bedroom.
Went to get another, but the store never had them again.

Whenever I’m in a sporting goods store or even a Walmart I look to see if they are selling jocks. Been doing it since I was a kid. Just makes me feel good seeing them on the racks for sale.

Wonder if this is a regional thing....I've checked a few Walmarts and they have a few Shockdoctor compression shorts with cup pockets, and some stand alone cups, but no jocks. And they're all with the elbow braces.

At both stores, the elbow braces/other supports are right next to the display of compression shorts and cups. A few years back a few Futuro brand jocks were on display right alongside the knee, back and elbow supports at a local grocery store chain.

That's actually pretty standard when it comes to Walmart. Especially with computers, there is cheaper hardware in Walmart computers compared to pretty much anywhere else. I'm not surprised the quality of their jockstraps is less. But they're good for when you're in need. I'll take a cheap jockstrap over no jockstrap.

I didn’t realize that about Walmart but it makes sense. It’s like the dollar stores too.

Both lol. The bottom is folded back a little but it is a narrower pouch than the classic shock doctor. Not as soft either but still a fun jock!
