Hi,

Thanks in advance for your time in answering my query.

When I logged on I noticed that my post count went down. I had the tab open to my stats and when the page refreshed there was a decrease in the number.

I am mostly curious if I posted something in the wrong section or something that was outside the guidelines.

Is there a way to know when and/or why posts are removed? Or perhaps to be gently reminded of a rule to correct behaviour so it doesn't happen again?

If I did err in my posting or broke content rules I apologise.

Have fun,

Josh

There it is, proof of voter fraud. The election was stolen I tell you!

(oh wait, wrong conversation!) 😁

Seriously, I'm assuming you're talking about "Message counts". This is a tally of all the Gallery posts you've made along with posts you've made on other member's profile walls and also posts and replies in the Forums. There's a number of reasons the counts could change. The software runs what is technically called cron jobs. They happen regularly on the server throughout the day and retally counts. Counts could reduce if a member leaves the site and you had posts on their profile wall, or if they had started a thread and that thread got deleted because of a request to have all their content removed (it happens). Along the same vein, each member has control over their own profile wall and I've noticed a bunch of members like to clean off their wall (delete posts) once in a while.

There's also a possibility that the counts simply got out of whack and the cron job corrected the counts.

It could also be Gremlins. It was just Halloween, after all.

Honestly, I can't be sure but those are the first reasons that come to mind. I don't think anyone should be fixated on counts, they're part of the software and I can't remove them but if I could, I probably would. Except, perhaps, the member count as I love to know that Your Jockstraps is steadily growing.

As for removing posts/photos: In the Galleries, I'll often move a mis-categorized photo but will always give the member a reason for the move. If someone posts a photo of them full naked in the gallery under one of the Jockstrap Categories, I will remove it - but again, will let the member know why.

With that said, I have never removed any of your photos.

Kind regards,

John.

Hahahaha. Well played. Well played.

Thanks. As well thank you for always being so prompt with responses and including details for our further understanding of our issues.

I never even considered that it might have been a deleted by user or something along those lines. I honestly just presumed I was in violation of a rule or posted to the wrong subject matter.

I'm the gay guy who gets carried out (yes more than once or twice) of the peeler bars by bouncers for dancing into the preformer areas when I like a song. I clearly am not paying attention to them... I can often be oblivious to reality when I'm in my own world....

Point of random story is to explain why I automatically presumed I had erred. Sometimes we take the linguistic scenic route to make our point.

Have fun!
