Adrian and I are heading to rainy Northern England for a wedding then heading to Paris for four days for a bit of culture and heat and sun.

There’s nowt wrong wi’ Northern England rain, lad, particularly if it’s good old Yorkshire rain!
As the saying goes, there’s no such thing as bad weather, there’s just bad clothes.
If your bit of Northern England takes in Yorkshire (Britain’s largest county), then welcome to God’s Own Country and I hope that you both enjoy it.

England's greatest county-in every sense of the word
...and forget about Paris for the culture- there's plenty in Yorkshire! great theatres and other performance venues, birthplace of the Brontes and the sun does shine here!
Also, you have impeccable timing as Monday the 1st of August is Yorkshire Day!!
