Photo Contest Winners will be announced tomorrow

Like I needed any more drama. Went into hospital emergency early Monday in excruciating pain - figuring it was something to do with a blockage in my stoma (I have an ileostomy at the moment). After 8 hours, I'm told the "good news" is that I don't have a blockage but that bad news is that I have a Kidney Stone but the "good news" is that it's very small and "at the end of it's journey). Well, two days later and I'm still in pain off and on. Crossing fingers, but it does seem to be clearing up.

Anyway, Will be announcing the winners of the contest tomorrow (a day late). Sorry for the delay!

No worries! Heal first! Pass that bad stone and hopefully no more! My utmost sympathy for your misery...been there, done that! Ouch!

Oh John, so sorry you are enduring this. I've had it twice. They gave me morphine in emerg, and then silodosin (Rapaflo). My GP suggested using a little strainer to catch the bugger when it passed - and I did! Took it in for analysis. And it was smaller than a green pea - but it HURT.

I've heard from women that it's similar to childbirth pangs.

Keep drinking! Are you on silodosin? It relaxes the passageway.

I had hydromorphone (synthetic morphine) from my operation I had four weeks ago which I never needed. The Dr. told me to take that and Extra Strength Tylenol (which we have in bulk thanks to Costco). The Dr. didn't mention silodosin.

My single stone is only 3 mm across so I guess that's a good thing. and perhaps why they didn't prescribe me anything. The Dr. says it's at the end of it's journey and shouldn't take long to pass on it's own.

The most frustrating thing (apart from the pain) is how random my attacks are. I was supposed to have a photo shoot on Monday, had to cancel it as I was in the hospital for most of the day. Tuesday morning I was feeling fine so I rebooked the photo shoot for yesterday but then at 1pm on Tuesday I had another episode that lasted 5 hours so I've cancelled the shoot again and just told the model that we'll reschedule it after this damn thing has passed. I can't string him along like this.

Yesterday was actually pretty good but had another short episode last night.

Just hard to plan anything or work around it.
