At 14 my first job was at a flower shop in a shopping center. I worked weekends & Hollidays.
During college a good friend & I had a small construction company. We rehabbed small homes for rent & built fences & decks.
After college, I sold paint & coatings for 5 years for Porter.
I met the owners of The S.E. Post, and after talking for a half an hour, I was invited to work for them. I worked there for 20 years as the Archivist, Permissions Editor, Cartoon Editor, Post Scripts Editor, and I got to write 5 or 6 times.
As my parents aged and we wanted them to age at home. I assisted them for 17 years.
After my Dad passed, I bought a former 120 year old dairy farm here inside Indianapolis. There are still 10 acres here and a 120 year old barn. They are not making more land, ant's been my best investment. I put in 10,000 hours fixing the place up. It's been a labour of love.
After Mom passed, I realized it 3 years ago, I've been retired for 9 years.
I am finally. enjoying my retirement at home and do not desire to take any further vacations. There is no place like home.

Quick story. When I was in first grade we had a class project where we built a 3D version of those little area rugs with cities on them and you put matchbox cars on. Spoiler alert…. I had said rug and had a case full of matchbox cars lol.
Anyways we built our little city and I brought in tons of cars to fill our city with and I was the most popular in class cuz of my matchbox collection… I’ll never forget my teachers words…. “You need to pay more attention to the important subjects because you’ll never get paid to play with cars when you grow up” I've never hated a teacher so much for such a simple sentence…..

Well I’m 30 now and have been in business full time on my own 10 years as a professional auto detailer! Bitch please I get paid every day to play with cars and I absolutely love it! I get to play with cars a lot of people never get to see up close in person and it’s freaking awesome!

I also have been teaching snowboarding during the winter months since I was 14 for my local ski resort, and the last 12 years I’ve been professionally certified.

I worked for a couple years right of high school as a barista for Starbucks. Worked a few restaurant jobs over the years. Long time family friends bought a marina on our lake and I worked that first summer they owned it as a dock hand sending out rental boats and running our launch ramp, which is why I got so good at maneuvering trucks and trailers and got damn good at maneuvering boats at docks.

I also have had several bartending gigs over the years but the most involved is working for my mom running an outdoor bar at an outdoor summer outdoor concert series that we have run the bar for almost 10 years now. I’m the kind of on the rocks shaken margaritas lol.

What an astonishing variety of jobs you've been doing! You may not have been academically inclined, but you're obviously very smart and nothing if not flexible!

First job was at Baskin-Robbins, (love ice cream) then waiter then cook at Sambos for years, when they went bankrupt I worked in meat department at a grocery store...disgusting job. Worked at Burger King for day (hated it) Then men's clothes in a department store (so many men in their underwear in the dressing rooms...and a few naked...Then finally my dream job as a film/television editor for 25 years. (Only one soft core porn did I edit for Cinemax)
After retiring I worked at my second dream job at a porn/sex shop...so many hardons!
Now happily retired!

Man, I'd love to work at, or even own, a sex shop. Especially one with video booths or a cinema
