New swim jockstrap from Bike

I received my new swim jock from Bike yesterday. I was replacing an old one (from before they stopped production and restarted). I was dismayed that the waist band is somewhat wider than the original one. I like the narrower waist band. Has anyone else gotten one of these lately and noticed? What do you think?

I've only had one swimmer jock. Had no intention of owning one, but I saw it in a dollar store, and couldn't let it remain homeless. It was some random off-brand I've never heard of. Held my boys well enough. but I still preferred my regular 3inch waistbands.

What's your appeal to the smaller band?

It's what I started with when I was a teen, just used to it I guess. I also have regular band ones as well. The swim jock works well under running shorts as well as my board shorts. But I could use regular jock in there as well. The lighter, narrower band does dry more quickly when used under my board shorts. The new band is both wider and thicker than the old. The old one is probably 15 years old now and has no stretch left in it.

The quality of bike jockstraps is way down, unfortunately. I think they are made by the same company that manufactures Karen Space and not the ones that manufacture the Gym brand

Sad to hear. I really didn't think the quality was bad, I just prefer the smaller band profile. Fits me fine and holds things together.

I just got one. It’s better than their original as in the NEW “original” (why are the straps sewn on the outside???) but I don’t hate it. Yes not as good as the original, as in the OLD “original” — because of course it isn’t.
