The original design of the jockstrap was invented by F.C. Bennett in 1874, 150 year ago. It remained basically unchanged till today. The many copies on the market today show no real difference to Bennett’s original design and function.
To celebrate this milestone, Meyer has come up with this..
A limited edition jock with collector clam shell and 150th jockstrap anniversary retro-style packaging. And ingeniously, it's also reversible!
Of course this all makes sense when you consider this:
Meyer, the original European distributor for the world's most famous jockstrap brand took matters into their own hands in 2014 and came up with the limited edition Throwback #10. A number 10 that was a nod to the classic jocks of yesteryear with a unique antiqued woven pouch. Needless to say, they sold out in no time.
Well, guaranteed, this new collector's edition jock will follow in it's predecessors footsteps.
Here's the details:
Not only have they upped the comfort ante with a comfort 2" waistband but Meyer broke from tradition replacing the webbed pouch with an incredibly soft and smooth fabric made of nylon and spandex so you're getting the perfect amount of stretch and support. And did we mention, the jock is reversible so you're getting two jocks in one - a red one and a black one.
The leg straps are also made with comfort elastic and are 3/4 of an inch wide. And it wouldn't be a sports jock without the info label on the outside.
