To answer you question above: when wearing a protective cup, I prefer an athletic supporter with an exterior cup pouch, specifically the type that has snaps on the opening. I have two such jockstraps which are packed with plastic at all times, always at the ready if called into service. One jock is the vintage cotton Flarico 42 I mentioned before and the second is a vintage cotton Defender. The Flarico holds the Bike 80 while the Defender is packed with the OBC. These jocks and cups have never been, nor will they ever be, washed.

The new black shock doctor jocks are a lot better than the white ones. The white waistband rubbed a lot on my waist. I’m not sure what fabric they decided to use, but the new black ones are super comfortable. They do have a cup pocket btw

I like my my cup in a pouch with snaps. Riding a dirtbike it moves around too much when held in place by a regular jock. I got an Addidas martial arts cup that fits excellent with a Franklin cup in it. I had been buying Martins. But they wear out quick and the sizing is way off the last 2 I bought. Yes. I wore my new Addidis MMA jock with cup that came in it. But I stick with the old style low profile cups because they don't get in the way sliding up against the front of a dirtbike seat.

The cup in my earlier post was a Shock Doctor. Today i visited a sporting goods store and picked up a new Shock Doctor Black Jockstrap w/Cup Pocket - per your recommendation. I was concerned that the XL might be a little too big, but i went with my gut and it was true to size and yes, super comfortable.
