In between sizes advice.

My waist size is 35 or 36..... I'm always trying to decide if I need to order a medium or a large? Any advice as to which size I should try first? I know sizing varies between brands, but I'd like not to have to buy a medium and large in every brand I want.... It's a conundrum for me.

I have been in that same situation. When I had a 32-33 waist, a medium size waistband worked. When I gained weight (insert sad emoji face) and went up to a 35-36 waist, I moved up to large. I recently lost weight and went down to a 34 waist, the large still works, a medium Bike jock I have is still a little too tight. My goal is to get back to the 32-33 range so I can wear it again and then replace all of my large straps with mediums. Make sure your cock and balls have enough room, no matter what waist size you go with.

Well with most jocks the pouch size is the same length so you don't have to worry about strangling the boys. I figure a waistband that's not digging in is a plus so I always size up if in doubt. That being said, over the years BIKE switched countries of origin many times on their grey band jocks and I have some large that fit well, some XL that fit well, and a 2XL that has a waistband so tight it comes off after an hour. You have to watch the size charts too. Some brands offer XL at 40-42 inch and then the next one is 36-39 inch waists for XL

That's good advice, I guess I'm picky about the right snugness. It's gotta feel right for hard work. I guess it's probably better to get large even though I'm at the bottom of the scale. Some of my larges fail to give enough support, however.

Another consideration is the style of jock you're planning to buy. True sports jocks tend to fit snug as they're designed to keep everything in place. If you're wearing them for sports then get them snug but if you're wearing them for everyday wear then for sure, go to the upper size.

Fashion jocks are a different beast. In general, they're more forgiving as the waistband elastics are normally more stretchy. Brands like Raw Studio that we carry use one of the most forgiving elastics and I would definitely going for medium in that brand.

If you have your eye one of our jocks at Jockstrap Central, then just let me know which one(s) and I can give you some specific sizing advice. That's what I'm here for.

Cheers,

John.

I hear ya! I need an extra large for the pouch usually, but the ass straps can be a bit dangle sometimes. I go for pouch comfort definitely!
Hope this helps!

Sizing is a probelm, as it does vary so much between makers. Here are some of mine, all Large - except the Jock Mail (army green) which is XL. 🤔
