Very interesting. You were lucky with your two father figures! I recall riding home on the bus during high school around 1960, and having a sudden boner for no obvious reason. Had to hold my binder in front of my crotch! I'd love to have that problem now!

I'll never forget my first jockstrap. It was an unbleached cotton Champion Atlas and was supplied by my high school for mandatory freshman PE class way back in 1968. It was actually dispensed by the school book store along with a pair of gym shorts. If boys aren't taught the importance of protecting and supporting their "boys", they're not going to. It's up to us dads and uncles of boys, to make sure they know the importance to keeping the family jewels protected

Dad bought me my first jockstrap. Had me change to see how it fit and said.....that will work for now.... Then got me a youth large. Got some men's small 7110s after that. Went to the sporting goods store for several years and got a week's worth of jocks/cup supporters. Once I got my DL and had the credit card I was on my own.

The same happened here dad taking me for my jock. Replaced till I got my DL. That was a cool time buying them at store and taking buddies for thier. Always having a couple new ones on hand for occasional younger cousins visiting for swimming or basketball playing.

To this day I always wear a jockstrap under my swimming trunks. It is fairly easy to order trunks without a liner online, which is what I do. I think there must be a market for them, for guys that either want to wear compression shorts or a jockstrap. As it turns out this early conversation established a trust between myself and this man. Here bought my first BIKE#10 the good days of BIKE. Tried it that night at home. As opened the box the aroma of rubber and elastic filled the air. I've mentioned before on here I went and bought my first jock the same week I got my driver's license. I wasn't lucky enough to have someone teach me about them and their importance, but I remember seeing them online and being inexplicably drawn to them (I will never forget young me finding Jockstrap Central for the first time and browsing the jocks and models!). I went to a very small local sporting goods store that was family owned and never busy. Unfortunately the jocks were all packed in plastic so I had nothing to try on there, but I bought a pack of 2 classic white Bike jockstraps. Looking back, I'm surprised they had them because this was before their official comeback! I nervously stepped up to the register and placed them on the counter, and the man who rung me up said "We don't sell too many of these anymore." I replied with a half-truth that I was getting too hot during my workouts this summer in compression shorts and wanted something cooler and with more support, and he simply agreed a jock would be perfect then. As soon as I got home I strapped up for the first time, and it was everything I had hoped. I wore practically nothing else under my shorts the rest of summer and through high school, and 6 years later they are all I wear!
