Buying a Strap for son?

I made sure to instill the importance of the jockstrap to my son as soon as he began competitive sports. I always took him into our men's league hockey game locker rooms so he had seen many men in jockstraps starting at the age of 5 or 6. By the time he was in 7th grade he was wearing the same size as me so we just shared a basket of a dozen Bike performance 2". And I felt so empowered the day my father gave me my first Bike #10 with the blue stripe. I eventually ended up with my dad's Black and Bauer #9 swimmer jock and occasionally wear it.

I remember my Brand new Bike#10 for gym. During spring break that year I got my first Bauer and black #9 swimmers jock I wore it to the beach , yardwork like mowing the grass etc.

True in sports I started when I was 15 or do for soccer and rugby at school and then later when I played in teams.

My dad wore a jockstrap whenever at beach and swimming. Most summers under shorts he wore 3 inch waistband jock. So growing I always saw his Bauer and black white jock on the laundry line drying out after a hand washing.
So I was 4-8 seeing him strapping up. I asked Daddy when will I get my own.

I was surprised at age 9 my brother had a small jock he gave me oh I felt so proud.

I was a contact sports kid, but always wore a jock under a girdle or cup jock. But my son and I both ( me a ice hockey center and him a lacrosse goalie) have moved onto the Nutty buddy cup/jock system. But I still have all of my Bike cup jocks.

Our gyms do not allow kids under 16, by then I think it may be to late. Other ideas appreciated.

It's never too late to get a son strapping. Iam surprised your gym doesn't allow your son to go with you. In California a good friend took his 14& 15 ye old cousins with him he was 18 at the time. Both cousins learned to wear a jock from him and loved jocks and working out together.

I did when he started flag football in 6th grade. A few years later he was old enough to buy his own when he started football in 10th grade.

Shopping with my Dad to get jockstraps (for both of us) during adolescence was pretty routine and natural. While growing up, I enjoyed frequent (Saturday morning) trips with him to our [male only] downtown YMCA, where I routinely saw numerous nude, strapped and minimally dressed guys in the swimming pool, showers, locker room, and strutting into/from the adjacent men’s massage room. The Y even provided bins filled with clean standard shorts, t-shirts, socks, and [Bike] athletic supporters in varying sizes. It was there that I first “sized“ myself with a Bike jockstrap, before our first shopping trip for same. While fascinating to me, and now a notable fetish, Jockstraps were just a standard part of any guy’s athletic gear, and we all seemed to understand, accept, and even like it without much question. Still comfortable and proud to strap regularly, whether for athletics, or everyday wear.

I remember him asking me why he didn't fill up the pouch when he first tried on one of the jocks. He knew the answer but I think he just wanted assurance. And I told him that soon he would be getting boners much more often and at times when he didn't want one. I told him that I went through that too, and I wore a jockstrap plus my regular underwear to try to hide the tent in my trousers. And also remember my Dad talking to me about that problem. He had known I was wearing a jock every day to school, and surely knew why. We sat down and he said something like: don't ever be ashamed of popping a woody; it's totally natural and normal. Be proud! After that, I had much less worry that kids would see my tent. And I never got a nasty comment. A few friends made fun comments about my boning for some chick, but nothing bad. Later, I shared all of this with my son; he and I have a very, very open relationship about everything, and I am glad how he has developed. This is great that you and your Dad could talk about anything, and now you and your son has the same relationship! That is how the world should be , we should be able to talk to our Dads about anything at anytime we need to!

Totally cool, and very healthy father-son relationship, which seems much the same as my growing up experience. Since I was an only son, my Dad was very open, honest and direct about everything that many parents find difficult... physical changes to expect, buying/wearing jockstraps, frequent/spontaneous boners, locker room/shower nudity, etc. He even showed me how to roll a condom over an “erect“ broomstick! Likewise, he was very accepting and understanding upon discovering his 13 year old son masturbating with Dad‘s jockstrap on his face! Quite embarrassing for most, but “you’re doing fine, but try not to let your Mom see this” in our case !
