One of our biggest challenges of running a legit online store like Jockstrap Central is not only losing customers to places like Aliexpress selling cheap Chinese knockoffs where they promise you mostly knockoff jockstraps for 2 dollars each. Seems like: if the price is low enough, guys are willing to take a gamble both on the speed of delivery and the quality of the garment.
But another issue plaguing stores like ours is having guys get burned by shopping at all the fake stores out there from China - and they lose the confidence to shop online.
If anyone frequents Facebook (don't) then you'll find yourself inundated with ad after ad for online clothing stores. I dare you to click on a few and you'll soon see that many the stores are identical in design except for a different company name and color scheme. Most of these stores are Chinese owned and shipping from China. If you're lucky, the Shipping information page will actually tell you that your order will be shipped in say 4 to 14 days and could take up to 2 months to receive. Many will tell you nothing. And good luck trying to find an address, phone number or contact email.
I know many you guys know this, but some don't.
Case in point:
Just saw this ad for a new jockstrap and underwear store on Facebook. It's called: The Locker Room Jock. Sounds promising right? The ad was accompanied by this stolen photo:
Yup, pretty hot. So, I clicked on over to check out their jockstrap offerings. I should have guessed:
It was full of of all the cheap ass Chinese brands: Jockmail jocks (blatant copies of so many designer's jocks), Fake PUMP! jockstraps, fake Aussiebum jockstraps and a few other cheap Chinese brands that you can find all over Aliexpress and Amazon.
So then I decided to dig deeper. Lets see where they're located. From their contact page:
2548 Broaddus Maple Court Avenue,
Madisonville KY 4783,
United States of America
Great, so maybe it was a North American company that's simply selling all the Chinese jocks? Not likely!
Here's the phone number:
+777 2345 7885:
From a Google search: The Area Code 777 is currently unassigned. It is frequently spoofed by telemarkers and scam artists to hide their own real numbers.
Then I went to their Shipping information page. Surely being in the USA, shipping would be reasonably fast. Nope again. From their shipping information:
I've highlighted the relevant parts!
So, it takes one to five days before the "Suppliers around the world" aka Chinese factory to actually ship your order, 12 to 25 days for it to arrive at their USA warehouse and then it will finally get shipped to you.
So... tell me? With all this underhandedness and deceit, how do you trust a company like this with your credit card number?
I realize I'm not going to change human nature. So many people love a deal. Young people don't mind buying disposable underwear as long as they can get a selfie in it to post on Instagram or Tik Tok. It's the world we live in.
I guess I just want to tell guys to be careful and shop smartly.
Cheers,
John.

We work with suppliers around the world to source high quality products. Our suppliers typically ship items within one to five days of receiving an order. From that point, it takes 12 to 25 business days for items to arrive. As soon as your product ships,
you'll receive a tracking number that will let you keep tabs of where your order is at all times.
