    When I was playing college ball during the off season we could sign out a gym roll (towel, shorts, socks, tee, jock) from the equipment desk.

    Cups required in physical education classes

    Nobody wore a cup for PE or even sports, but jocks were required for PE and sports starting in 6th grade. The lack of cups did lead to a number of injuries though.
