HISTORY:

Priape was founded in 1974 in the gay village of Montreal, Quebec as a sex shop and fetish clothing retailer. They eventually expanded to a number of store within Canada and eventually Berlin. Underwear was originally a small part of the offerrings but as underwear became more varied and popular, they gave up a major part of their stores to it. Eventually, they developed their own Priape branded line of jockstraps.

Sadly, Priape ended up going out of business in 2013 but seems like a small portion of their business has managed to survive with their Montreal location remaining open as is their online store.

STYLES

Sports Jockstraps, Fashion Jockstraps, Fetish Jockstraps

The first range of Priape jockstraps combined the woven pouch of a sports jockstrap with elements of a fashion jock made in a range of bold solid colors. Eventually they branced out and did variations on the original design incorporated cutouts and even adding lace-up fronts.

Although Priape jockstraps are still available from a distributor and sold at certain other websites, they are no longer available at the Priape website.
